Owners of residential and commercial property in Aviston have until June 1 to get their address numbers posted in a visible place if they don’t currently have them. This is a requirement of a village ordinance and also required by the Clinton County 9-1-1 system so all emergency vehicles can find these locations.
The numbers can be posted, printed, painted or otherwise affixed to at least one building on the property in a way that makes it easily visible from the closest street or roadway going by in the front. If it is not possible to post the number on a building where it can be seen, it should be on the mailbox or somewhere else where it is easily visible.
After June 1, police will be patrolling the town to make sure the numbers are in place.
