Rose Mary A. Olliges, age 86, of Germantown, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Evercare of Breese. She was born January 21, 1940, in New Baden, a daughter of the late Herman and Wilhelmina (nee Frerker) Pollmann.
Rose married Edward “Eddie” Olliges on October 26, 1960, at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden and he preceded her in death on October 27, 1997. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerome Olliges; granddaughter, Jennifer Green; brother, Lawrence Pollmann; parents-in-law, Alphons and Margaret (nee Sauer) Olliges; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Fred Olliges, Arnold Schmeink, Alphonse Olliges, Jr., Martha (James) Eversgerd, and Thomas Lane.
Rose is survived by her children, Kenny Olliges of St. Rose, Lenny (Denise Feld) Olliges, Linda (Gerald) Hemker, and Theresa Haake, all of Germantown; grandchildren, Nicole (Travis) Toennies, Brittany (Matt) Netemeyer, Jessica (Craig) Kuhl, Tyler Hemker, Tracy (Nicholas) Melton, Jaime (Mike) Little, and Rachelle (Luke) Buchmiller; grandson-in-law, Joseph Green; great-grandchildren, Vivien, Lucy, and Maris Toennies, Addyson Netemeyer, Alyssa and Adelyn Kuhl, Trevor Huegen, Paisley, Bentley, and Brayden Green, Kaydence, Logan, Jaxon, and Daxon Hemker, Austin, Connor, and Oaklyn Melton, and Waylon and Maya Little; brother, Frank (Bernice) Pollmann of New Baden; sisters-in-law, Shirley Pollman of Highland, Ann Olliges of Breese, Mary Schmeink of Breese, Mary Ann Olliges of St. Morgan, and Doris Lane of Breese; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to her family and home. She was a member of the Homemakers Association and a faithful member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown. Blessed with a creative spirit, Rose enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and embroidery work. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and listening to music. Her love of the outdoors was evident in the many hours she spent fishing, camping, gardening, and caring for her flowers. Most of all, Rose treasured the time she spent with her family and the many memories they created together.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. Thomas Lugge presiding. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.
In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to the Germantown Fire Department and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, PO Box 117 Germantown, IL 62245, who is serving the family.
