Margie Lammers, age 82, of Breese, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born November 7, 1942, in Breese, the daughter of the late George “Mups” and Lavera (née Rolfingsmeyer) Deien. On October 12, 1963, Margie married Kenny Lammers, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, and he survives.
In addition to her husband Kenny, Margie is survived by her son-in-law, Jeff Vogel of Breese; beloved grandchildren, Patrick Vogel, Connor Vogel, and Brandon Deien; her sister, Judy Deien of Carlyle; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Janet Deien of Breese, Carol Deien of St. Peters, MO, Linda Reynolds of Breese, Leo Schmeink of Eldridge, IA, James Richter of Mascoutah, and Barb Lammers of Highland; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kurt Lammers; her daughter, Geralyn Vogel; siblings, Mary E. Deien and Bonita M. Deien in infancy, James Deien, Melvin Deien, and Robert Deien; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo H. and Henrietta (née Huene) Lammers; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Rita Schmeink, Mary Richter, and Leo Lammers.
For over 12 years, Margie lovingly provided in-home daycare for many local families, touching countless young lives with her warmth and kindness. A devoted member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, she found great joy in her family, and her community. Above all, Margie cherished spending time with her grandchildren and never missed a moment of their school and sporting events.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle presiding and Deacon Jay Fowler assisting. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to the Breese Fire Department, National Kidney Foundation, or St. Augustine Catholic Church and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St., Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
