Carjacker sentenced to 15 years

A man who committed multiple carjackings and robberies in Chicago has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.

Prosecutors say Dwight Hasberry, 32, of Chicago, and three others engaged in a series of crimes, including carjacking a vehicle with an infant in the back seat, on Sept. 28 and 29.

Federal judge Manish Shah sentenced the other three members of the robbery crew earlier this year to prison terms ranging from 15 to 22 years.

Prostitution charges brought

A federal grand jury returned an indictment charging two Chinese nationals with offenses related to operating illicit massage businesses in Southern Illinois and Indiana.

Jianhong Hu Allbright, 57, of Shoals, Ind., and Yalong Cao, 25, of Schaumburg, Ill., are charged with conspiracy to commit an offense against the U.S. and money-laundering conspiracy related to employees engaging in prostitution at establishments in Centralia, Mount Vernon, Harrisburg and Vandalia in Illinois and Corydon in Indiana.

Lounge at shooting site closes

A Chicago establishment has closed permanently at the site where a mass shooting claimed four lives earlier this month.

Artis Restaurant and Lounge made the announcement on Instagram less than two weeks after a total of 18 people were shot during a drive-by incident.

As of Wednesday evening, no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting.
