🚨 CENTRALIA — PLEASE IGNORE THIS DOG HANGING OUT NEAR HARDEES AND THE BANK🚨
We know that sounds completely backwards coming from Animal Control, but right now, ignoring him may be the kindest thing you can do.
There is a very scared dog hanging around People’s Bank and the old Hardee’s in Centralia. He will not come to anyone, and he is dangerously close to a very busy intersection.
We are working alongside Clinton County to safely catch him before he gets hurt—or worse.
If you see him, PLEASE:
• Do not approach or chase him
• Do not call out to him or try to coax him toward you
• Keep your distance
• Please do not feed him
We know he’s hungry. We know every instinct says, “That poor baby needs food.” But right now, his hunger may be exactly what helps us save him.
A live trap has been set with a very yummy meal waiting inside. Our hope is that once he gets hungry enough, he will venture into the trap and we can finally get him somewhere safe.
Every person who approaches him risks frightening him into traffic. Every meal given to him makes him less likely to enter the trap.
Please let us do the work we know needs to be done. ❤️
We truly appreciate how many people want to help. But sometimes the very best intentions can unintentionally prolong our efforts and put a frightened dog in even more danger.
For this guy, helping means giving him space, leaving the food to us, and letting him think the coast is clear.
We’re trying, buddy. Now we just need you to get hungry enough to fall for our plan. 🐾❤️
