Informational post:
When we post animals as found, that puts them on a 7 day stray hold. During the hold, animals cannot be adopted or fostered. They have to remain at animal control. The hold is to allow the animal owner time to reclaim them. It also allows us the time to have our veterinarian as well as staff evaluate the animal medically and temperment-wise and decide if they are going to be deemed adoptable. At the end of the stray hold, we have three options, make them available for adoption, send them to a rescue or humanely euthanize the animal. While we want what’s best for every animal that comes in the door, we also understand that not every animal is adoptable.
