Jane F. Jansen, age 80, of Breese, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Breese Nursing Home. She was born December 7, 1944, in St. Rose, a daughter of the late George and Josephine (nee Wilke) Kampwerth.

 

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert F. “Butch” Jansen whom she married June 18, 1966, and who died August 5, 2001; siblings, Emmy Kampwerth, Netty (Rich) Kapp, Sr. Georgia Kampwerth, ASC, Sr. Rita Kampwerth, ASC, George (Dorothy) Kampwerth, and Anna (Bill) Alberternst; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Marie (nee Eilers) Jansen; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eugene (Millie) Jansen, Jerry (Martha) Jansen, Paul Kuper, and Virgil Flennigan.

 

Jane is survived by her children, Lynette (Rich) Eilermann of Breese, Mark (Buffy) Jansen of Germantown, Michael Jansen of Carlyle, and Matthew Jansen of Bartelso; grandchildren, Justin (Stacy) Eilermann, Emily (Jeff) Niemeyer, Jacob (Cassidy) Jansen, Jessica (special friend Wade Szczeblewski) Jansen, and Johnathon, Joshua, and Jeremy Jansen; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Harper Eilermann and Willem, Barron, and Conrad Niemeyer; sister-in-law, Lucille Flenniken of Breese; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Jane dedicated many years of her life as a federal employee at Scott Air Force Base. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and its Altar Sodality, where she also served as a former treasurer. She gave back to her community through her work with the St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary.

 

In her leisure time, Jane found joy in reading, crocheting, and stitching—talents she generously shared with family and friends.  She also loved spending time with her many friends playing cards, dice games, bingo, and dominos.

 

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. James Nall presiding. Interment will follow at St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.

 

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese and again Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese.

 

In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to All Saints Academy, Mater Dei Catholic High School, Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School, or St. Dominic Parish and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
