SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. —
Scott Air Force Base hosted its 36th annual Retiree Appreciation Day on Nov. 23, 2024.
The event welcomed military retirees and their family members, and hosted over 20 informational booths, free coffee and refreshments.
Col. John Poole, 375th Air Mobility Wing commander, kicked off the ceremony and opened the floor for guest speaker ret. Col. Laurel “Buff” Burkel, who spoke about her time in the military with key emphasis on resilience, connections, getting in shape, and celebrating personal milestones – both big and small.
The event allowed military retirees to connect and learn more about the supporting resources available to them.
