Weekend Fun at Fairview Park

On Saturday, September 30, OktoberFest was held at Fairview Park to benefit the ball fields. Several musicians performed, and food trucks with a variety of foods were available.

Kickball and a basketball tournament were a few other activities that took place, along with a pie baking contest hosted by Ellie’s Place.

Joe Miller of C-Town Skate Krew arranged a skateboarding contest that drew skaters from Chicago, West Frankfort, Carbondale, Springfield, Jacksonville, Xiena, and other nearby towns. The youngest skater was five years old and preformed some advanced maneuvers.

The Annual Centralia Youth Commission Fall Bash was held on Sunday, October 1. There were complimentary hot dogs and sweets, and water was available for free. Tournaments brought out competitors from ages 11 and up. Sand volleyball, pickleball and cornhole were among the tournaments. There was a basketball dunk show as well as a skateboard show by C-Town Skate Krew.

A crowd showed up for the Fall Bash on Sunday.
