The 32nd annual Run For The Wall stopped in Mt. Vernon on Tuesday, May 23. The ride starts in Southern California and ends at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, DC. It is the largest and longest organized cross-country motorcycle run of it’s kind in the world. Mt. Vernon is the only Illinois stop they make each year. Funds are raised by local volunteers to provide a fried chicken lunch and to help pay for their fuel while they’re here.
The RFTW’s mission is to promote healing among all veterans, their families and friends, to call for an accounting of all prisoners of war and those missing in action, to honor the memory of those killed in action and to support our military personnel all over the world.
