Carol A. Schulte, age 83, of Breese, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. She was born June 19, 1941, in St. Libory, the daughter of the late Herman and Theresa (nee Baalmann) Robben. Carol married Gerald “Shots” Schulte on September 6, 1969, at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2023.

 

In addition to her husband, Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine (Gerald) Davinroy; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Hilda (nee Krieger) Schulte; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rich Crook, Nelson (Charlene) Schulte, Lavern (Sylvia) Schulte, Raymond (Loberta) Schulte, John Schulte, Clinton “Slick” (Johanna) Schulte, Milford “Bean Soup” Schulte, Robert Schulte, Donald Schulte, Henrietta (Tom) Schilling, and Edward Hansen.

 

Carol is survived by her sons, Allen (Michelle) Schulte of St. Peters, MO, and John (Kristin) Schulte of Springfield, MO; her cherished grandchildren, William and Beau Schulte, Greta and Amelia Schulte; siblings, David (Betty) Robben of St. Charles, MO, Thomas (Carol) Robben of Belleville, and Adrian Crook of Belleville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Lou Hansen of Highland, Shirley Feldmann of Breese, Janet Schulte of Maine, and  Sharon Schulte of Breese; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Carol dedicated much of her life to serving her community, having worked for Aramark Food Service and later at District 12 Grade School in Breese, where she contributed to both the kitchen staff and bookkeeping department. A woman of faith, Carol was a long-time member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, and cooking, but above all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

 

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter presiding.  Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Breese.

 

Visitation will be Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese.

 

In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Dominic Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
