She was a farm wife and worked for the US Army Corp of Engineers until 1963. After the birth of their second daughter, Jeanette became a full-time farm wife. The family moved to St. Rose in March 1967. In St. Rose they built a house and dairy establishment. The family continued to run the dairy farm until 1988 when they sold their cows.
