Kaskaskia River Project — Please join us at the Kaskaskia River Project on Monday, April 8, 2024, for the solar eclipse. Eclipse glasses, one per person, will be available for those joining us while supplies last. The Project, campground, and picnic sites will be open on a first come, first serve basis. Parking will be limited to concrete and paved areas only. Lock tours will also be available at the Visitor Center from staff as they are available.

Camping is available on site at the Lock and Dam and fifteen sites are potentially available. These sites are $20/night and include amenities such as electric, picnic tables, grills, asphalt pads, trash disposal, a shower house, and comfort stations. Again, campsites are booked on a first come first serve basis. Campers must setup camp and then pay their fee at the station, which is open 24 hours. Check out time is 4 p.m. at the campsite. The maximum number of campers per site is eight, with one camper, or four tents.

Please contact us if you have any questions. Thanks, and hope to see you all there!

For more information, questions, or directions contact the Kaskaskia River Project Office at (618) 284-7160 or e-mail us at KaskyL&D@usace.army.mil.
