Victor W. “Vic” Fuhler, age 95, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Cedarhurst of Breese surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 17, 1928 in St. Rose, a son of the late Rose, nee Haar, and Bernard Fuhler, Sr.
In addition to his parents, Vic was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Fuhler, nee Thole, whom he married April 11, 1950 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese and who died February 4, 2017; grandson, Eric Wehrle; son-in-law, Ken Spurlin; siblings, Theodore Fuhler, Bernard Fuhler, Jr., John (Bertha) Fuhler, and Clara (John A.) Rakers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Aloys and Christine, nee Jansen, Thole; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wilbert Huelsmann, Stanley Timmermann, Priscilla (Joseph F.) Voss, and Loretta (Louis) Foppe.
Vic is survived by his children, Alice (Ken) Wehrle, Dave (Pat) Fuhler, Ruth Spurlin, Tom (Cindy) Fuhler, Pat (Ray) Westphal, and Mike (Lynn) Fuhler, all of Trenton; grandchildren, Jackie (Keith) Moglowsky, Kyle (Sarah) Wehrle, Justin (Kalli) Fuhler, Jared (Elizabeth) Fuhler, Elizabeth (Kyle) Emig, Steve Spurlin, Brian (Kayla) Berkemann, Adam (fiancée, Kaylen McDowell) Fuhler, Jacob (special friend, Tori Calvert) Fuhler, Julie (Ed) Koeller, Jenny (Tim) Gross, Emily (Blake) Hilmes, and Nicole Fuhler; twenty-two great-grandchildren; sisters, Agnes Huelsmann of Breese and Helen Timmermann of Breese; sister-in-law, Jane Fuhler of St. Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vic dedicated his life to farming, working as a dairy and grain farmer. His love for farming was evident, and he had a particular fondness for John Deere tractors. Known for his joyful spirit, it wasn’t uncommon to catch Vic dancing from the barn to the house. A man of faith, he was a devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Holy Name in Trenton.
Beyond farming, Vic found joy in playing cards, traveling, listening to music, dancing, and playing bingo. A true family man, he was devoted to taking care of his wife, Sally in her last years, and cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. George Zieba presiding and Deacon Tom Ritzheimer assisting. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Trenton.
Visitation will be Monday, January 29, 2024 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
