The first Marion County Genealogical & Historical Society meeting of the New Year features Salem’s own Tim Lybarger. He is the son of one of the Society’s officers, Bob Lybarger. Tim has researched and is the author of the book “Welcome to Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood.” He will tell the group how he became fascinated with the program and the work of Mr. Rogers. The meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22 at the Bryan-Bennett Library. The library is located at 315 S. Maple in Salem. Visitors are always welcome.
Looking ahead, on Monday, February 26, Karen Short, Regent of Daughters of the American Revolution, will do a portrayal of Mary Rand Leman, who arrived in Salem as a teaching missionary.
