SSM Health Medical Group in Illinois continues to expand primary care services in the area. Ashley Daniels, MSN, RN, FNP-C has recently joined the medical staff in Mt. Vernon, and Kathy Norman, MSN, RN, FNP-C has recently joined the medical staff in Salem. Both are welcoming new patients.
Ashley Daniels, RN, MSN, FNP-C received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in St. Louis, MO. She earned a Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner at Maryville University of Saint Louis. As a certified nurse practitioner, Ashley has served SSM Health Illinois Express Care patients for many years.
“In my practice, I take a patient-centered approach by listening to understand what concerns my patients have, then we discuss treatment options, and together we decide on a care plan that’s right for them,” says Daniels.
Daniels treats patients of all ages for a wide variety of conditions and welcomes new patients. She offers many services and treatments to keep patients healthy including preventative care and routine checkups; health assessments and screenings; and management of chronic illnesses.

Kathy Norman, MSN, RN, FNP-C earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and her Master of Science degree in Nursing at Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan.
Her graduate clinical experience includes family medicine, women’s health as a midwife, and pediatrics.
“I desire to help individuals make the best decisions about appropriate treatment options by focusing on the body, mind, and soul. Living each day with an emphasis on being the best version of themselves and their uniqueness,” says Norman.
