The Land of Lincoln Credit Union recently donated $2,500 to the CCBA Food Pantry in Centralia. It was part of a total of $25,000 that LLCU donated to 13 different central and southern Illinois food pantries. The donations were initiated in October to celebrate “Tackling Hunger Month” in an attempt to help fill a void caused by the discontinuance of several food drives that were formerly held in the LLCU service area.

“Our mission at LLCU is to provide people with education and tools to achieve financial success,” said Robert Ares, LLCU President/CEO. “But we also know that financial success cannot be achieved if people are facing food insecurity. This is why we feel it is important to provide resources to local food pantries. They provide these basic essentials to individuals in our communities who are in need and we want to support that work as much as possible.”

To join LLCU in donating to these food pantries, please visit the news blog at llcu.org to find links to each organization and make your donation today.
