The healthcare system in this country at this time is complicated and becoming more so. Navigating the current health care system and what it’s become is a daunting task for patients and providers alike. At times, it’s become hard for patients to even see their primary health care provider. Through no fault of their own, it’s difficult for providers to spend the amount of time they would like with their patients in order to form a relationship to dig deeper into the underlying causes of health problems.

For the reasons above I’m excited about the loyalty and dedication of David A. Milano, who is a family nurse practitioner.

In more than one conversation, I was amazed with David’s background that lends itself to his future and to the possible future of your good health. David has been an emergency medical technician and paramedic in Marion and Jefferson Counties for 20 years, so I can’t even imagine what he has seen and the lives he might have helped save.

He said, gratefully, “It was a very rewarding experience, but I realized along the way it gave me the desire to provide more care for those in my community.”

It began in 2016. David said, “I applied and was accepted into nursing school, graduated, and went on to get my Master’s in the science of nursing. Early this year I passed the test to become a board-certified family nurse practitioner, leaving me able to see patients of all ages, from providing school physicals to providing urgent care to providing long-term care, for anything from vaccines to stitches to management of COPD to diabetes.”

So with that said, I take great pleasure in introducing you to a man that has poured his heart and soul into getting to know his patients and providing the care that every patient deserves when they entrust their health to the provider they choose, a provider who will be available when his patients need him and has even been known to make house calls when necessary. His office is now open and accepting new patients. Start by picking up the phone and calling to make an appointment or to talk personally with David and schedule a time to discuss your health concerns. Call 1-618-204-2897. David is at Heartland Integrative Medicine, located at 302 Broadway in Mount Vernon. He practices primary care, urgent care and alternative therapies.
