The Jefferson County Historical Society Village, located at 1411 N. 27th St. in Mt. Vernon, IL, held their annual Heritage Festival on Saturday, Oct 7. The weather was perfect and they had a nice attendance. Each year they celebrate the history and tradition of Jefferson County and the surrounding areas. They have demonstrations of how things were done in the past and tours of the old buildings and cabins. They have a children’s area, games, crafts, food and vendors. If you missed it this year, be sure to plan for it next year.
