Upcoming Brehm Library events – The Shoppers Weekly

The C.E. Brehm Memorial Public Library in Mt. Vernon offers a variety of classes and special presentations. Below are some of their upcoming events.

Take-and-Make Craft Kits are available for adults and teens. Enjoy making crafts to decorate your home, to give as a gift or just for fun? Pick up a craft kit to make at home. Kits are for ages 13-18 and 19 and up. The kits can be picked up at the second floor reference desk on the first Wednesday of the month. There is a limited number of kits, and they are available on a first come basis.

Booktalk by Charley Cass is coming up. Charley will be discussing his book Leaving Poverty: On Purpose and for Good on October 5 at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of his book is to inspire someone to take up ideas in it to help end poverty for at least one person in their life.

Spooky Die Decorating for Teens is coming soon. Come to the library and have fun decorating foam dice in a creepy or horrifying way! All supplies will be provided but you are welcome to bring some of your own to use. This program is for freshmen and up and will be held on Saturday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. Please call 618-242-6322 to register.

On October 12 at 6:30 p.m. Greg & Debbie Backes will perform a concert featuring many different styles of music. Songs will include those by Bob Dylan, John Denver, John Prine, Chris Stapleton and many others. Come and enjoy a fun evening of music you love and know.
