The Education Council of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce has selected the September teachers of the month. The program was started to recognize teachers throughout the county each month. Nominations were sought by the Education Council from area schools. This month, the Council selected Camilla Bauer from Dr. Andy Hall Early Childhood Center (D80) and Catryna Stevers from Spring Garden as September award winners.
Both Ms. Bauer and Ms. Stevers are early career educators. Their superintendents, Ryan Swan and Tammy Beckham, both remarked about the quality of their teaching so early in their careers. Parents and students submitted nominations for Ms. Bauer and Ms. Stevers.
The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce seeks nominations each month from area schools. Award recipients receive a $25 gift card to area Chamber member businesses. GFI Digital sponsors the $25 gift card that is awarded each month. In order to be nominated and receive the award, the school district must be a member of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.
The Council will continue to recognize teachers throughout the 23-24 school year.
