ST. LOUIS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, in coordination with the non-Federal sponsor, the City of Fenton, Missouri is hosting an in-person public meeting on Thursday, October 12, to present general study information, to share the content of the draft feasibility report, and to gather feedback on the Tentatively Selected Plan.
“Homes, businesses, and infrastructure throughout the Meramec Basin watershed have been significantly impacted by flooding in recent years, and communities are eager to find solutions to the flooding problem,” said Matt Jones, Project manager for the Corps of Engineers. “This meeting will enable residents, business owners, and the public to hear from the Corps about the Tentatively Selected Plan and to provide feedback about that plan.”
This meeting is an opportunity for the public to bring to the planning team’s attention the local considerations and conditions and to make suggestions and ask questions. A presentation on existing conditions, flood risk reduction measures considered (nonstructural, structural, flood risk awareness, and outreach efforts), and the details of the Tentatively Selected Plan will be given by subject-matter experts from the Corps of Engineers. The City of Fenton staff as well as community stakeholders will be available to answer questions and provide additional information to attendees.
The presentation given during the public meeting will also be placed on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District website at the following address: www.mvs.usace.army.mil/missions/programs-project-management/fenton-mo-frm/.
