September is Library Card Sign-up Month and Centralia Regional Library District is joining the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind everyone about the valuable resources available with a library card.
A library card helps everyone do more of what they enjoy, all without stretching their budget.
Whether you’re borrowing a book, eBook, audiobook, movie, television series, or a fishing pole; needing to access a computer; doing research for your family tree; or wanting to expand your skills with an online class, your library card can take you further than you can imagine.
Interested in trying a new hobby? The library can help. Needing job resources? The library has that too. Centralia Regional Library District partners with several organizations to help bring you what you need—sometimes right at your own home—and all for free.
Centralia Regional Library District, along with libraries everywhere, continues to adapt and expand services to meet the evolving needs of our community. There’s something for everyone at Centralia Regional Library, and signing up for a library card is the first step on the path to academic achievement and lifelong learning for students of all ages. It’s elemental, really—everyone should have one!
During the entire month of September, the Centralia Regional Library will be waiving all replacement library card fees and everyone who signs up for a new card, replaces their card, or checks their library card account at the library’s front desk will be given a gift of their choice and entered into a grand prize drawing for the end of the month.
Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, the ALA and libraries work together in a national effort to ensure every child signs up for their own library card.
