Rosa Isela Baez-Briseño, age 38, of Breese, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born April 4, 1985 in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico, a daughter of Isaias Baez and Ortencia Briseño.
In addition to her parents, Rosa is survived by her husband, Mario Alberto Vasquez-Rodriguez, of Breese, whom she married January 19, 2006 in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico; children, Luis Mario Vasquez-Baez, Alexa Mariel Vasquez-Baez, and Alisson Maylen Vasquez-Baez; brother, Brian Valadez-Briseño; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rafaela Rodriguez and Patricio Vasquez; and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Omar Vasquez, Rene (Virginia) Vasquez, and Yesenia Vasquez.
Rosa was preceded in death by an uncle, Arturo Vasquez.
Rosa’s pursuit of knowledge led her to graduate from the University of Tamaulipas in 2007. She pursued a professional career as an accomplished accountant. Beyond her career, her true joy and purpose were found in being a dedicated stay-at-home mother, nurturing her children’s growth with boundless love and care. She showed her creativity through the strokes of paintbrushes and pencils creating numerous works of art. Her spirit thrived while biking with her children, sharing laughter and creating memories on every joyful ride. Christmas was her favorite holiday, a time of warmth, togetherness, and the magic of giving.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville with Fr. Jim Allen presiding. Interment will follow at St. Damian Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 1:30 – 5:30 p.m. and again Monday, August 28, 2023 from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville.
Memorials in honor of Rosa may be made to the family and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
