BCMW Community Services Block Grant Program will be awarding two more $1,000 scholarships to residents with low income residing in Bond, Clinton, Marion, and Washington Counties. This program is funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The scholarships are open to residents with low income desiring to further their education during the 2023-2024 academic year at an accredited two-year college, vocational school, or four-year college or university.

All applicants must be permanent residents of Bond, Clinton, Marion or Washington Counties. Award recipients may use the scholarship award for education expenses, and payments will be sent directly to the school.

Eligibility criteria: 30 days’ proof of income, grade point average, 100–200-word career goals statement, three letters of recommendation.

30-Day Income guidelines are as follows: 1- $2,430; 2- $3,287;3- $4,143; 4- $5,000; 5- $5,857; 6- $6,713; 7-$7,570; 8- $8,427.

Applications may be picked up at BCMW, 909 E. Rexford in Centralia or at the BCMW outreach office in the county in which you reside. Applications may also be obtained at www.bcmwcommunityservices.org. Applications will be available beginning Tuesday August 1, 2023, and must be returned by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday August 31, 2023.
