In spite of everything, I still believe in us — my America, our America. Let us all take a step back and remember; together let’s stand up for what’s right.

Last Wednesday the prosecution and defense for the Hunter Biden case met in court for a ruling on the plea deal they had arranged. The proceedings judge noted that according to the agreement all other and any future charges would be dropped. She asked if there was an ongoing investigation against Hunter and didn’t understand why the other charges would be dropped during an ongoing investigation. They replied yes, there is an ongoing investigation. The judge then refused to sign off on the plea agreement and gave both sides 30 days to resolve the issues she laid out. Also discovered was one of Hunter’s lawyers made a phony phone call to the court and tried to remove the IRS whistle-blower’s testimony. Of course the law firm said it was an unfortunate and unintentional communication. Could it be that Hunter jinxed this one? Like father, like son.

In the meantime, the GOP unloads on the Bidens, revealing FBI documents alleging Ukrainian bribery. The dirt throwing escalated when Sen. Chuck Grassley (R–IA) released an FBI generated FD-1023 form that detailed allegations of corruption by the Biden family.

Facing the possibility of Congress holding FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt, in June the FBI allowed members of Congress to view a heavily redacted version of the form. Among several items was the claim that a foreign national who had allegedly bribed Joe and Hunter was in possession of audio recordings of conversations. It stated the informant Mykola Zlochevsky, the founder of Ukrainian energy company, Burisma, said he had recordings that included Joe and Hunter. Slowly the pieces are coming together.

Zlochevsky also allegedly paid Joe and Hunter Biden $5 million each in exchange for then Vice President Joe Biden using his authority to ensure the firing of Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin who was investigating Burisma, a company in which Hunter held a lucrative board position.

You might be interested to know since the war began in Ukraine the Biden administration and Congress have given Ukraine more than $75 billion in assistance, according to the Kiel Institute, a German research institute for world economy.

My question is, how much has gone into the Bidens’ and Ukrainian President and former comedian / actor Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s pockets? Oh, the webs they weave!

It grieves me when I look at what my children and grandchildren are going to face, between the corruption in the federal government and the unimaginable wokeness in our federal and state governments, judicial system, public education system, health care system and more.

Not to mention what our government has done to the medical profession. I watch more and more good doctors hanging up their practices because they can’t stomach what’s happening to hamper the care of their patients as well as their nurses. I see all these, among other things as we teeter on the edge of World War III. It’s time, folks, to stand up!

I don’t care what the party affiliation is, the new Democratic Woke Party or the Republican Party. Both, in most cases, are self serving and corrupt. Look at the State of Illinois. In January 2023 the State legislature voted themselves a raise, and in less than six months they gave themselves an additional 17% raise while Illinois’ working families struggled to put food on the table and state workers suffered the consequences with cuts in every area including no raises and cuts in insurance. However, on Wednesday of last week they started to talk about a 17% raise over a period of four years. Yet we continue to vote along party lines and vote for the same thing over and over.

I’ll close by repeating what I said last week,

“The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.”

—Plato

I still believe it’s not too late. Next election, vote for the right people. Study their history, look at what they stand for. Start with school boards, city elections, state elections and federal elections. Together we can change things. Let’s get started by standing up.

Until next week.
