The Jefferson County Historical will hold John Warren Ham Radio Day from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29 at the Historical Village. Ham radio demonstrations will be given by the Amateur Radio Club of Mt. Vernon. If you would like to participate in the demonstration call Steve Warner at 618-315-0968. Everyone is welcome to attend.

In honor of long time, JCHS Board Member John Warren the JCHS is hosting the John Warren Ham Radio Day. Ham Radio was a passion of John’s, and the Ham Radio Community would also like to honor John, who passed away on June 20, 2022. He held a lifelong interest in amateur radio. His call letters, W9BFO, held significance within the amateur radio community.

“We will always remember John Warren for his willingness to help and his gentle spirit. Every year he worked hard to make the Village look magical during the holidays. He was our sound man, our hotdog griller, model train program volunteer and so much more. He is greatly missed,” said Dana Uhls, Community Relations Specialist.

This program is provided free of charge, but donations are appreciated. The Jefferson County Historical Village is located at 1411 North 27th Street in Mt. Vernon. For more information contact the Historical Society office at 618-246-0033.
