The June meeting of Centralia Business and Professional Women met on June 14. President Stephanie House welcomed members and began the meeting with the collect and pledge of allegiance. Birthday celebrants for May and June were honored and chose a gift from the birthday basket. Dawn Cleary presented the treasurer’s report along with the presentation of bills.

The 50/50 drawing was won by Michele Garrison. Finance Chair Nancy James collected funds from members wishing to make brags. Education Chair Becca Deomes introduced guest speaker Derek Sherman, Economic Development Director for the City of Centralia, who gave a brief presentation on the new growth of Centralia businesses, especially the “Mom and Pop” establishments. Members were then able to ask individual questions concerning the City of Centralia.

President House then presented the slate of standing committee/special assignments. If you are a member and have not received notification of your committee, please contact Stephanie.

There will be no general meeting in July. Instead, a special fun event, Boujee Bingo, has been planned.
