The C.E. Brehm Memorial Public Library in Mt. Vernon is going fine free. There are no longer fines on overdue books and other materials. You still have to pay for lost or damaged materials.

Please do not leave donations in the book drop.

Library patrons should be aware that the Library will be closed on July 4.

Brehm Library offers a variety of classes and special presentations. Below are some of their upcoming events.

Josie B’s Book Club offers discussion, crafts, and snacks for girls ages 9-12. The next meeting will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 20. Call 618-242-6322 ext. 4 to RSVP, for information on selected book and to reserve a copy.

Looking for work? Try Mantracon for help. Join them from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in the Meeting Room. They will explain how Mantracon works and help you fill out forms for job seeking. The next session will be held on July 20.

Summer reading programs are for ages 2-102. Register on Beanstack.com. Logged reading will need to be entered by midnight July 31. Summer reading programs are listed below.

July 10, Local Dr. Tyler Wishau, Juggler Extraordinaire. Join the group at 2:00 p.m. to see local Dr. Tyler Wishau, DPM, Podiatry Specialist juggle balls, apples, knives and fire. Dr. Wishau holds the American record for Joggling in a ½ Marathon. (That’s running while juggling, very impressive!)
