Marion County real estate tax bills mailed

The Marion County Treasurer’s Office has announced the mailing of 2022 payable 2023 Real Estate Tax Bills. The total number of bills is 34,301. The total amount of Marion County real estate taxes billed is $42,819,313.78 up from last year’s amount of $40,589,567.32 plus $2,225,473.70 in railroad taxes to be collected.

1) The due dates are now July 27, 2023, and September 27, 2023.

2) Please, review your bill before payment or make sure you received your bill, especially if you bought or sold a property, settled an estate, transferred a property, and/or paid off a mortgage within the last year or pay bills for a relative.

3) The Treasurer’s Office is in Room 105 at the Marion County Courthouse.

If making payments at the Marion County Courthouse, please be prepared for security screening and occasional limited parking. The Treasurer’s Office is committed to serving the taxpayers in the best manner possible.

Payment options include mailing in your payment, paying at most of your local banks and credit unions or using the drop box on the west side of the courthouse. If payers are using online bill pay from your checking account, please include the Property Index Number with your payment. ACH checking account payments (E-checks) or credit/ debit card payments can be made online at ilmarion.com

The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday to receive in-person payments. For any questions or concerns about your bill, please call the Treasurer’s office at 618-548-3858.
