Karen C. Mangicaro, age 76, of New Baden, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023 at her home.
She was born December 27, 1946 in East St. Louis, a daughter of the late Vernon and Norma, nee Hendricks, McGuire. She married the love of her life, George Mangicaro and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2015.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Tracy (Kevin) Brown.
Karen is survived by her sons, Randy Keller of Belleville and Craig (Mary Corbitt) Keller of New Baden; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Marla (Tom) Twardowski of Colorado Springs, CO and Todd Daniel (friend, Julie) McGuire of Chicago.
Karen, a devoted wife and travel enthusiast, shared many journeys alongside her beloved husband, together they created memories that will forever be cherished. Karen’s profound love for animals shone brightly. Her companion, Katie, a loyal and affectionate cocker spaniel, held a special place in her heart. Karen’s nurturing spirit extended beyond just her furry friend, as she actively contributed to various animal welfare organizations, always advocating for the well-being of animals.
There will be no services at this time.
Memorials are suggested to ASPCA, Villalobos Rescue Center (Pit Bulls & Parolees), or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
