SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation board member Norma Fairchild donated a handcrafted Vermont farmhouse doll house crafted by Mike Woodward, a local craftsman, to be raffled off by the SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary just in time for the holiday season. The raffle will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023, and all proceeds will go directly to the Auxiliary.

“Making doll houses began as a family tradition. Every year, I would create one for my granddaughter. My heart is truly with Good Samaritan hospital, and I like what the Auxiliary does, so I decided to extend our family tradition to help benefit the Auxiliary. This is the third doll house I’ve donated so far,” said Fairchild.

Those interested in viewing the meticulously detailed Vermont farmhouse replica and purchasing tickets are welcome to do so at the SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital gift shop located at 1 Good Samaritan Way, Mount Vernon, IL, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 each or three tickets for $25.00. For after hour sales, please contact Derek Shaw at Derek.Shaw@ssmhealth.com

“Norma has always had a giving heart for her community. Norma’s connection and involvement with the hospital has been strong for many decades. She currently serves on the Foundation Board of Directors, a responsibility she has assumed since the Foundation was created in 2010. I was amazed when I saw the doll house. The furniture and decor for each room is beautiful and very detailed, including the teddy bear sitting on the baby crib in the nursery,” said Kay Zibby-Damron, SSM Health Illinois Regional Director of The Foundation.

SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital – Mt. Vernon has been a vital part of caring for the people in our community for more than 100 years. Our goal is to ensure our hospitals continue to provide the best possible health care and honor our Mission of revealing the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
