
The C.E. Brehm Memorial Public Library in Mt. Vernon offers a variety of classes and special presentations. Below are some of their upcoming events.
Family Movie Night will be held on Sept. 22. Kids must be accompanied by an adult and adults must be accompanied by a kid. Because of the licensing agreement they can’t advertise what movies they will be showing, so call them at 618-242-6322 to find out the movie being shown. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Movie starts at 7 p.m.
There will be a Game Day at the library on Sept. 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be board games, card games, and role-playing games. Children are welcomed if accompanied by an adult.
An Introduction to Bridge Tutorial will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 26. Come and learn the basics of Bridge.
Brian Alvis will be talking about his book Bootlegger on Sept. 28 at 6:30 p.m. His presentation will cover the book and the local history behind the book. He will also cover the process that went into making it. Come and meet the characters from the book.
