The Carlyle Mudcats 14U baseball team dropped to 3-5 on the season after a 17-5, five-inning loss to Big Muddy Baseball.
The Mudcats led 2-1 after two innings. Big Muddy Baseball scored 10 runs in the third inning to take an 11-2 lead. Big Muddy Baseball added five runs in the fourth inning and one run in the fifth inning to take a 17-2 lead. The Mudcats scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Drew Lueking reached base three times and had two hits and one run scored for the Mudcats. Evan Beal reached base three times and had a hit and two RBIs. Ethan Brinkmann had a hit, RBI and run scored. Christopher Monroe had a hit. Benjamin Schilbe, Timothy Schilbe and Blake Hanke all scored runs.
The Mudcats host Breese on Monday.
