The Central baseball team improved to 20-1 overall and 6-0 in the Cahokia Conference Mississippi Division with a 6-1 win at Freeburg. Freeburg dropped to 13-6 overall and 4-2 in the conference. Central is ranked No. 1 in Class 2A according to MaxPreps. Freeburg, the defending state champion, is ranked No. 10.
John A. Logan commit and Central senior Landon Geragosian pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits with nine strikeouts and one walk.
Freeburg senior Kamden Casey retired 10 of the first 11 Central batters he faced. With one out in the top of the fourth inning, Central’s Conner Freeze and Chase Lewis had back-to-back singles. Dalton Boruff doubled to score Conner Freeze. Hunter Sample had an RBI ground out to score Chase Lewis and put Central up 2-0. Dalton Boruff scored on a passed ball to put Central up 3-0.
Freeburg got within 3-1 on a one-out home run from Eli Hill in the bottom of the fourth inning. In the top of the fifth inning, Easton Rakers and Cody Dickshot had back-to-back singles with one out. Conner Freeze doubled to score Easton Rakers and Cody Dickshot to put Central up 5-1. Chase Lewis had an RBI single to score Cody Dickshot in the top of the seventh inning.
Central outhit Freeburg 10-5.

Cody Dickshot had a hit and scored two runs. Easton Rakers had a hit and scored a run. Mason Hamon, Jonathan Husmann and Landon Geragosian all had hits.
Central plays at Nashville on Friday. The Cougars play Lincoln 1 p.m. Sunday at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
