The Carlyle softball team won its sixth straight game and moved to 9-2 on the season with a 15-5, five-inning win over Okawville. The Indians have won seven of their last eight games. Carlyle is 4-0 in the Cahokia Conference Illinois Division.
With the game tied 1-1, Carlyle scored 10 runs in the second inning to take an 11-1 lead. Okawville scored four runs in the third inning to get within 11-5. Carlyle ended the game with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Sophia Hoffmann had two hits, including a triple, with three runs scored and three RBIs. Avery Eversgerd had two hits, including a double with two runs scored and two RBIs. Brianna Suydam had two hits, including a double, with two RBIs and two runs scored. Isabella Picou had two hits, one RBI and one run scored. Faith Weaver had a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Ella Rolfingsmeyer had a double, one RBI and one run scored. Carlie Wademan had a hit and two RBIs. Sydnee Smith and Emma Meyer both had a hit and scored a run. Raelyn Harris had a hit, RBI and scored two runs.
Avery Eversgerd pitched four innings, allowing five unearned runs on three hits with one strikeout. Emma Meyer allowed no runs on no hits in the fifth inning.
Carlyle plays at Centralia on Friday.
