The Carlyle Mudcats 14U baseball team moved to 3-3 on the season with a 13-3, four-inning win over JCLL Elite. The game was called after the top of the fourth inning due to the time limit.
Jon Schmitt reached base three times and had two hits, including a double, with three RBIs and three runs scored. Drew Lueking reached base three times and had two hits, including a double, with three runs scored and one RBI. Ethan Brinkmann reached base three times and had two hits while scoring three runs. Christopher Monroe had one hit and two RBIs. Evan Beal scored two runs. Landyn Mitchell and Grayson Strader both scored one run each. Melvin Towell reached base three times.
Drew Lueking started pitching and went two innings, allowing no runs on no hits with five strikeouts and no walks. Landyn Mitchell pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed no runs on no hits with two strikeouts. Jon Schmitt pitched 1 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on two hits with one strikeout.
The Mudcats host South Central on Tuesday at the Carlyle City Park.
