The Central Cougar baseball team moved to 7-0 overall and 1-0 in the Cahokia Conference Mississippi Division with a 14-4, six-inning win over Salem.
With the game tied 2-2, Central scored a run in the third inning and three runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-2 lead. Salem scored a run in the top of the fifth to get within 6-3. Central scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Salem scored a run in the top of the sixth inning to get within 8-4. Central scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for the 14-4 win.
Landon Geragosian had three hits, including two doubles, with four RBIs and two runs scored. Cody Dickshot had three hits, including a double, with one RBI and three runs scored. Easton Rakers had three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored. Conner Freeze had three hits and two RBIs. Chase Lewis had two hits, one RBI and one run scored. Mason Hamon doubled and had two RBIs. Hunter Sample had a hit, RBI and two runs scored. Ty Kueper had a hit and scored two runs. Justin Sample scored two runs.
Landon Geragosian pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits with seven strikeouts and three walks. Chase Lewis pitched 1 1/3 innings, allowing one run on two hits with four strikeouts and no walks.
Central is scheduled to host Greenville at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
