The Barteslo seventh-grade volleyball team went 2-0 during the second night of the St. Rose 7th Grade Volleyball Tournament.
Bartelso beat St. Rose 25-10, 25-5 and beat Germantown 18-25, 25-23, 15-10.
Germantown went 1-1. The Bulldogs finished the day with a 25-15, 25-9 win over St. Rose.
Germantown led Bartelso 4-1 in the third set. The Braves scored four straight points and took a 5-4 lead on three straight Avery Patton service points. With the set tied 5-5, Bartelso scored five straight points to take a 10-5 lead after four straight Jentry Budde service points. Germantown went on a 4-1 run to get within 11-9. Bartelso scored three straight points and took a 14-9 lead following a Tori Garcia service ace and Avery Patton kill.
Germantown led 23-21 in the second set. Bartelso scored four straight points and won the set on three straight Avery Patton kills. Germantown had as big as a six-point lead in the second set at 16-10. Germantown had a 21-7 lead in the opening set after five straight Avery Von Bokel service points. Bartelso went on a 9-1 run to get within 22-16 following four straight Jillian Beckmann service points. Germantown won three of the next five points to win the set.
Bartelso led St. Rose 5-3 in the opening set. The Braves went on a 8-0 run to take a 13-3 lead following seven straight Avery Patton service points. Leading 16-9, Bartelso scored four straight points to take a 20-9 lead after three straight Tori Garcia service points. Leading 20-10, Bartelso scored the final five points and won the set on four straight Helena Timmermann service points. Leading 6-2 in the second set, Bartelso went on an 9-0 run to take a 15-2 lead after eight straight Avery Patton service points. Leading 17-5, Bartelso ended the match on an 8-0 run and won the match on seven straight Tori Garcia service points.
St. Rose led Germantown 15-14 in the opening set. Germantown ended the set on an 11-0 run and won the set on 10 straight Madi Redman service points. With the second set tied 3-3, Germantown went on a 6-0 run to take a 9-3 lead after five straight Abi Winkeler service points. Leading 14-7, Germantown went on a 7-0 run to take a 21-7 lead after six straight Aubrey Voss service points.
The final night of the tournament is Thursday. Albers/Damiansville (0-2) and St. Rose (0-2) play in the fifth-place match at 5 p.m. Germantown (1-1) and Breese District 12 (1-1) play in the third-place match at 5:50 p.m. Bartelso (2-0) and All Saints Academy (2-0) play for the championship at 6:40 p.m.
