The Clinton County Conference volleyball team opened on Monday night at Central High School. In a very competitive night, three of the four quarterfinal matches were won by lower seeds. Three of the four quarterfinal matches went three sets.
No. 7 seed Carlyle beat No. 2 seed Bartelso 19-25, 25-23, 15-13.
No. 6 seed All Saints Academy beat No. 3 seed St. Rose 25-21, 19-25, 15-13.
No. 5 seed Aviston beat No. 4 seed Albers/Damiansville 25-20, 20-25, 16-14.
No. 1 seed Breese District 12 beat No. 8 seed Okawville 25-14, 25-20.
In the championship bracket semifinals on Tuesday, Aviston plays Breese District 12 at 5 p.m. Carlyle plays All Saints Academy at 5:50 p.m. Both of those matches will be in the main gym.
Albers/Damiansville and Okawville play in the consolation bracket semifinals at 5 p.m. Bartelso and St. Rose play in the other consolation bracket semifinal at 5:50 p.m. Both of those matches will be in the auxiliary gym.
The consolation championship game will be at 6:45 p.m. in the auxiliary gym. The third-place match is at 6:45 p.m. in the main gym. The championship match is at 7:40 p.m. in the main gym.
