The Albers/Damiansville sixth-grade volleyball team beat Carlyle 25-14, 25-12.
Gabby Rolves served four straight points to put the Cougars up 4-0 in the opening set. Carlyle went on an 11-5 run to get within 11-9 after four straight Olivia Wiegmann service points. Carlyle got within 12-11 before Albers/Damiansville went on a 5-0 run to take a 17-11 lead after four straight Alejandra Avalos service points. Leading 18-12, Gabby Rolves had four straight service points to put the Cougars up 22-12. Carlyle got within 22-14 on a Caybri Pollmann service point. Albers/Damiansville scored the final three points and won the set on two straight Adrienne Rakers service points.
Gabby Rolves had four straight service points to put Albers/Damiansville up 5-1 in set two. Carlyle scored five straight points to take a 6-5 lead on four straight Maci Simonton service points. With the set tied 7-7, Albers/Damiansville scored seven straight points to take a 14-7 lead following six straight Adrienne Rakers service points. Albers/Damiansville took a 20-9 lead on two straight Brynley Albers service points. With Albers/Damiansville leading 21-12, an Adrienne Rakers kill and three straight Gabby Rolves service points gave the Cougars the 25-12 victory.
