The No. 9 seed Christ Our Rock boys basketball team saw its season end with a 60-41 loss to No. 2 seed Effingham St. Anthony during the Class A Regional semifinals at Patoka.
Christ Our Rock finished its season 21-9.
Effingham St. Anthony jumped to a 14-2 lead. Three-point baskets from Jayden Bazile and Dallas Fair got Christ Our Rock within 14-8 after the first quarter. St. Anthony led 19-8 in the second quarter. Christ Our Rock went on a 10-2 run to get within 21-18 at halftime. Parker Boehne made two 3-pointers and Ryan Wuebbels made a 3-pointer during the run.
St. Anthony outscored Christ Our Rock 17-6 in the third quarter to take a 38-24 lead into the fourth quarter. St. Anthony had as big as a 20-point lead (54-34) in the fourth quarter.
Dallas Fair had 13 points for Christ Our Rock. Parker Boehne had eight points. Myles Pryor and Brayden Such both had seven points each. Jayden Bazile and Ryan Wuebbels both had three points each.
St. Anthony plays No. 3 seed Carlyle for the regional championship at 7 p.m. Friday at Patoka.
