Candidates who will appear on the ballot in April for municipal office are now set.  As mayor Kyle Jones will not to seek re-election along with two current council members–Scott Mohme and Andy Weh–have filed petitions to replace him. Incumbent city clerk Karen Buzzard is unopposed in her bid for another term. Trenton city council seats are based on 3 geographic wards. In Ward 1, Mark Brown is the only candidate to replace outgoing council member Brent Woods. In Ward 2, incumbent Jim Deien is the only candidate. There is a contested race in Ward 3, which includes roughly the geographic southern half of town, where former Trenton police officer Joe D. Berry is challenging incumbent Andrew Sims.
